• 1 medium potato (approximately 180g) 
• 5g butter 
• 20g leek 
• 30ml (2tbsp) of baby’s usual milk* 
• 5g golden breadcrumbs

*This can be expressed breast milk or baby’s usual milk made up according to the instructions on pack.

Milk and Wheat


1. Peel, wash and dice the potato.
2. Boil for 15 minutes or until soft.
3. Finely chop the leek. Heat the butter in a small pan and fry the leek for 3-4 minutes on a low heat until softened.
4. Mash the potatoes and leeks with the milk. Transfer the purée into 2 small gratin dishes.
5. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and grill for about 5 minutes until golden.



To introduce your little one to even more tastes and textures, try replacing the potato with breadfruit, sweet potato, or yam. This potato and leek baby food recipe works just as well with any of these.
