
Two Fruit Compote
• 150 g trimmed rhubarb
• 1 medium dessert apple (approximately 112g)
Utensils• Saucepan
Instructions
1. Wash and slice the rhubarb and peel, core and dice the apple.
2. Transfer to a saucepan, add 30ml (2tbsp) water and heat gently until boiling. Simmer for 5-10 minutes until the fruit is cooked.
3. Lightly mash with a fork if needed to break down any large chunks of fruit.
4. Serve warm.
Tip
Freeze any remaining portions of this baby fruit recipe in a clean sealable container. Why not try other fruit combinations such as apple and blueberry or pear and plum?
Good to Know
As your child reaches eight months you can switch to mashing foods to vary the texture away from smooth purées.
